235 – Time to Sail Away

We go on a long road trip to Annapolis, Maryland to look at a Tartan 37 sailboat and go for a test sail on the Chesapeake! This could be the one!!

I’d be really curious to find out what was on the survey from the Niagra on the lake Tartan 37.When I looked at that boat in April, I noticed a large indent on the port side hull; it made me wonder if there was something structural going on there. I didn’t exactly want a roller furling main anyway, so I backed out. BUT I would definitely be interested to see if the survey produced anything revealing wrt to the indent.

I have a Tartan 37 here in Australia great boat, I too have notice the port side hollow
It’s below the port fwd lower shroud when boned real tight they need a bit more reinforcement on the semi bhd the chain plate attaches to or a larger bhd like the one to stbd

Happy sailing guys enjoy the tartan great well mannered sailing boat with a good turn of speed under sail
